The UW Center for Disaster Resilient Communities offers a weekly seminar course, ENV H 408/508 Disaster Risk Reduction, Resilience, and Population Health Seminar, during spring quarter.
The interdisciplinary course one-credit (CR/NC) is open to University of Washington undergraduate and graduate students, exploring current research and policy and practice issues on disaster risk reduction and resilience. It will take an interdisciplinary lens to interrogate how disaster risk reduction and resilience impact population health and wellbeing. The course will also highlight the various academic pathways students can take to pursue careers in disaster risk reduction and resilience. Students wishing to register can do so on MyPlan. Most sessions will also be open to the public virtually and registration will be distributed via the CDRC listserv.
