The Northwest Center for Evidence-Based Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response collaborates with local, state and tribal health departments across Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington to enhance our region’s ability to prepare for and respond to public health threats.
The Center is one of 10 funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office of Readiness and Response to advance the development and implementation of evidence-based public health emergency preparedness and response strategies and interventions. The Center also works directly with tribal communities to improve uptake of evidence-based strategies and interventions aligned with their needs and priorities.
The Center has three primary focus areas, which were co-identified during a year-long planning process with regional public health, community, healthcare and response partners:
- Assessing and addressing current capabilities and future hazards;
- Workforce capacity and leadership; and,
- Communications.

We hope for many perspectives across Region 10 to contribute to the success of this Center, so we are seeking PHEPR experts and practitioners at any career stage from Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and the 272 Tribal Nations in Region 10 to join these Communities. We invite you to complete this interest form and share your expertise in one of these focus areas.
